Choco-Carmel Nut Pretzels
I made these last year to give away as gifts, everyone loved them!
2 14 oz packages of caramels (I use Hershey's, they are the best!)
1/4 cup water
1 10 oz package Bavarian-style Pretzels (I bought 2 boxes cuz there are always so many broken ones in the box)
1 1/4 cups finely chopped, toasted pecans
1 package semisweet chocolate chips (I use Ghiradelli)
8 ounces candy coating (I also use Ghiradelli candy coating)
Combine caramels and water in heavy saucepan over med-low heat. Cook about 35 mins. Stirring frequently until mixture is smooth. Using tongs, dip one side of pretzels into caramel and sprinkle with nuts. Chill 15 mins or until set.
Melt chocolate chips and candy coating in a heavy saucepan over low heat. (If choclate hardens return to heat) Drizzle chocolate over caramel coated pretzels. Let stand about an hour or until chocolate hardens. Store in an airtight container
Makes about 30
