Jiffy Pudding

Ingredients:

1 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp. butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 3/4 cups boiling water

Butter a 1 1/2 qt. casserole dish or square pan. Put flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg in bowl. Add 1/2 cup of brown sugar and stir in milk. Spoon into casserole dish. Spoon butter on top of dough and sprinkle 1 cup brown sugar over all. Pour boiling water over this. DO NOT STIR.
Put in oven at once and bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes for double recipe. Single recipe about 1/2 hour. Test with hpick.
