Thank you so much everyone and my wonderful daughter in law for keeping everyone posted.

What I went through the last two weeks was very difficult on me and my family to say the least. It was a lot more complicated than just blood clots in the leg but thankfully I came out of two surgeries and they did manage to save my leg which they doubted they would be able to do. They weren't even sure they could save my life at one point but the good Lord was with me and all went well.
I was taken by ambulance to Ottawa where they operated as soon as I got there. Then after about 5 hours out of the Operating room, they had to rush me back in for more surgery. So it was rough. My family was all with me the whole time and they had the worst of it all. The waiting and not knowing what was happening or if I would come out of surgery etc. My hubby said it was the scariest thing he has ever gone through in his life. I felt so bad that my family had to go through this. I will not go into detail about what happened or what they did as its very graphic so if anyone would like to know, just email me and I will tell you.

I am getting along fine, having the dressing changed every two days, and at the end of 7 weeks if I have not healed completely then its back to Ottawa for plastic surgery which I really would much rather not have but we have to wait and see what happens.

Anyhow, I am getting tired and have to get to bed so you all take care, so much for the love, ers and thoughts. They sure did me.

Oh DeeDee, I am so that you and your family have had to go through so much. I cannot even imagine. I am so thankful that God has been with you all. We sure do need you here so I can imagine how much your family needs you. You take care of yourself. Do not over do it. I am glad you came in to post but if you aren't up to it then you just rest and take care of yourself. My thoughts and ers continue to be with you. Hugs.

I'm so glad to see you back! That was a terrible ordeal you went through. My continued thoughts and ers are with you and yours...May your guardian angle continue to say on your shoulder for the rest of your recovery...Feel better !!!!

Dee Dee I am so happy to know that you are on your way to a good recovery. I will of course keep ing for you and your family. Thank God everything went well. I relly missed you. I will be ing for the day you are back here like before.

Thank you so much ladies. Wow, I have missed you all so much and am glad to be back. I will not be in every night for a while as I get sore if I sit for any length of time without having my leg up. My foot swells so much and I have to get it back to normal again.
I will come in as often as I can though.

Thanks for all the ers and good thoughts and wishes. This is why I ne so much, everyone is so wonderful and are always there for everyone. You ladies are the absolute best.

DeeDee you need to get your self a recliner and roll your desk over your lap so you can still type!!!!

Oh my gosh Kathleen, that is a great but it wouldn't work. My desk is large and is solid oak so it won't roll anywhere very easily. I made sure I bought a desk to last me a lifetime. Its not fun when we move from one house to another though and have to take the door off to get the desk in.

Thanks, I am home and every day is better. Today I was on my feet a little too much and am paying for it tonight so its soon time for my pain pill and my bed.

Thank you Luz, you are so dear to me. I am getting better each day and soon I will be back to the way I was before. I have about 4 more weeks or so attached to this VAC machine so it will be nice to see it gone when the time comes. In the meantime, it is doing its job and healing my leg just fine. I am so itchy though, it even wakes me in the night. Thankfully there is a dressing on it or my leg would be like raw liver from all the scratching I am doing.

Yes it won't be long and I will be attached to this desk again full time. I can't wait.

DeeDee, I'm so glad the vac machine is working. That is great news. I'm it is so itchy though. That can really you . I guess that is a good sign that things are healing but still not fun. You continue to take care of yourself and dont be overdoing it! We will be here waiting for you when you are completley better! So good to have you back posting when you can though. It sure isn't the same without you!

What you need is a laptop computer!! That would eliminate the need for a desk!

Yes Polly, a laptop would be perfect right now. I have been thinking of getting one but we will see.

Yes the itch is driving me for sure. Had the dressing changed today and the doctor said its healing nicely but not to scratch. If I do, it can cause more damage and we dont' want that. He said take a hair dryer on low setting and let it blow on my leg. It apparently relieves the itch. He said people who have a cast on do this and say it works great. Kind of hard to use a hair dryer in the middle of the night though or if I am out somewhere.
Can't you just see me carting around a blow dryer with me all the time?
