2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter real
3/4 cup milk
Heat oven to 450° F. Combine flour, sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. With a pastry blender cut in butter until consistency of coarse crumbs. Stir in milk, just until dry ingredients are moistened. On a lightly-floured surface, roll dough 1/2 -inch thick. Cut with a 2 1/2 -inch biscuit cutter dipped in flour. Bake on a greased baking sheet for 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve hot.
