Flower Pot Bread

Flower Pot Bread

1 5 x 5-inch unused lead-free clay flower pot
2 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 -inch unused lead-free clay flower pots
Onion-Dill-Cheese Bread
water
Poppy seed

To Prepare Flower Pots: For the 5 x 5-inch pot, cut two sheets of foil, each about three times the height of the pot. Mold first sheet over the outside of the pot, remove and repeat with second sheet. Carefully press foil sheets into pot, overlapping edges so all inner surfaces are covered. Trim excess foil and grease well. Repeat procedure with the two remaining pots.

To Shape and Bake Bread: Spoon dough into prepared flower pots. Pots should be about half full. Cover and let rise in a warm place, free from drafts, until doubled, about 30 minutes. Gently brush with water; sprinkle with poppy seed. Bake in a preheated 350° F oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until tests done. Remove from pots and remove foil from bread. Place loaves on wire racks. Slice and serve when .

freebeex3 I have a question. . .actually two of them.

First of all did I miss the recipe for the onion-dill-cheese bread, is it somewhere in this forum?

Secondly how would I know a clay pot was lead free? I have several new ones but there's no indication on them as to having lead or not.

I assume you could make these with any bread recipe, can't you?
I make homemade breads as housewarming and new baby gifts but would like to vary the type of breads made. I'm thinking you could even make banana or zucchin breads in the pots, lots of options, IF I can locate non-lead clay pots.
