Wink Historical Romances

This is the genre I have been stuck in ever since I read The Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I've read the entire Outlander series and found it to be very good. I also read a lot of Stephanie Laurens, Julia Quinn, Judith McNaught and Julie Garwood. I've lately been straying over to the suspence genre with the novels of Sandra Brown...which are excellent as well. Anyway...that's what I've been reading lately. Last night I skimmed around in another historical romance...Kilgannon by Kathleen Givens. I love the first half of the book when the two main characters are courting LOL!

Good , just read your post and thought if you're getting into the suspence category you might try partricia cornwell. She is good. I've read all of her books and have the newest one on the shelf ready to read when I get time. I go through periods where I just can't seem to read and then because then I can't put my books down. Work has been very busy and mind boggling so I think that's my problem. If you would like a little or alot of comedy with your suspence read Janet Evanovich's books. She is hilarious and she uses the same characters so you can't wait to see what they are up to next. Sue Grafton is another favorite of mine. Well I could go on and on about this subject so I better quit for now. Just thought I would share a few with you.

Thanks Heather for letting me go on and on. I love to talk about books too. Thanks for writing back too. I dont read historical Romance but my sister does. She loves them. I'm going to reccomend her to this site as soon as she gets her computer straightened out. She's been having trouble ever since she downloaded 9.0. I'm glad I didn't download it. I stopped at 6.0. Another good author is Lillian Jackson Braun, especially if you like cats. Two of the main characters are cats. They are pretty good. I like them because they are a series about the same people. I just hate having to wait for new books to come out. I've been exploring new authors so it's not so bad waiting. Well, I'll talk to you soon. Happy Reading!!!

Question read books what to do

, High ladies! well i'm new here and was reading the post on the books. and i was wanting to ask what you all do with the books that you read and don't really want to keep. I read alot of western romance and have quite a few and don't know what to do with them. I don't want to put them on e-bay, i don't think i would get enough to pay what they charge for the selling of and the ad. If anyone has any s let me know i have a bunch of books. Thanks to all and have a great day. mispie

I agree with what katey said. I've done some for books at half.com and it looks like a terrific way to sell some books. I wouldn't want to bother with eBay either ;)

Heather B. If you really like the historical romances with a twist of Sandra Brown to it, try Kat Martin. I just got hooked on her and hav read about 10 of her books. She also writes the mystery type like Sandra Brown. Also, J.D. Robb is a good mystery/romance writer. I work in a used book store and the owner is always getting me to read other authors.

Thanks Anna! I love learning about other authors that will interest me! I will definitely check out Kat Martin. Isn't J.D. Robb also known as Nora Roberts? I think I saw that somewhere. I'll have to check into that further too! Thanks again

Heather-you're . Yes, J.D. Robb is Nora Roberts. If you are interested, you may want to try Iris Johanson. She writes a good book. A bit of advice though - try to find a used book store near you. Most of the books I am talking about are older and not always found in the stores. Also it is cheaper! LOL You wouldn't be interested in military romance/suspense would you? My friend got me hooked on them and now I have a collection of about 3 authors that take up half my bookshelf.

I either give my books to family and or the library for their book sales. I love to give them away. I enjoy it when someone gives me books so I like to return the favor. Last time I gave some to the nurse at my drs. office. She was supposed to give me some but never did. Of course she never knows when I'm coming until I get there. Another good is to leave them laying around hospitals or dr.s offices so people can get them there. Just put a note on it that says FREE, TAKE HOME and people will take them. Hope this s!!

Before i read your post, I was just thinking of posting about the same book or series of books. My husband had bought me the first one years ago, and I thought oh a romance novel( I had never read one) Anyway to be nice I started reading it. I was hooked, it was the best book I had ever read. I have never actually read another book that compares. I have searched and read some other time travel historical romances, but they are not memorable. Even now i can't remember the title or author of those. The books are awesome, just make sure you read them in the right order.

I guess I should include the title of the books I am referring to. "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon

OH, how I wish I could read books again!!! Everyt time I start one I end up falling a!

I love Danielle Steele!!! I also like romance of all kinds, and (this is going to sound morbid, but....) biographies on serial killers! It is interesting to read why they did what they did!

I am trying to read on titled "Stumbling Blocks to Stepping Stones" by Shari Lyn Rusch. It is an inspirational story of a youn woman's triumph over learning disabilities and life challenges. The story is about the author.
