Talking Pumpkin Smoothies/Shakes (especially for dallasalice)

Libby's Pumpkin Smoothie 4 servings

1 3/4 cups (15-ounce can) LIBBY’S® 100% Pure Pumpkin, chilled
1 1/2 cups (12 fluid-ounce can) Carnation evaporated milk, chilled (see note)
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup (1 small) sliced banana
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
Ground cinnamon (optional)

Place pumpkin, evaporated milk, orange juice, banana and sugar in blender; cover.
Blend until smooth.
Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.

NOTE: I found this recipe on the Libby's website, to make it lower in fat and calories use fat free
evaporated milk or do like I did and use regular fat free milk (or skim milk, whatever your preference is). I left out the banana, too, cause I didn't have any and I liked it just fine. I didn't bother with the cinnamon either.

***************
Here's another recipe from the Libby's site:
Pumpkin Shake

Serves: 4

1 3/4 cups (15-ounce can) LIBBY’S® 100% Pure Pumpkin, chilled
1 1/2 cups (12 fluid-ounce can) Carnation evaporated milk, chilled ***
1 cup (8-ounce container) vanilla lowfat yogurt
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Combine pumpkin, evaporated milk, yogurt, sugar and pumpkin pie spice in blender; cover.
Blend until mixture is smooth.

*** Use fat free evap. milk to make this with less calories and fat.

************

And my very own creation ----------

Pumpkin Shake 4 servings (?)

1 cup canned pumpkin puree
3 cups fat free vanilla ice cream
5 - 6 Tbls. sugar (or use something like sweet and low)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. vanilla

Put all ingredients in a blender and mix til smooth.

NOTE: Geeze the stuff I wasted trying to come up with a pumpkin shake. I think I'll pass on becoming a best selling cookbook author!

These sound great! I think I'll try some for Sam with his Pediasure. One more way to get it into him!

Thanks,
Gretch

Good Gretchen, it's healthy and you can tell him it's a special drink for Halloween, a favorite of the "Great Pumpkin"...a sure guarantee he'd like it!

By the way, did his walker arrive yet?

Awww Doreen so much for looking for and trying to make us a lowfat pumpkin shake.

I think I agree with the lowfat icecream one! Now my next trip to the store I will have to pick up all the special ingredients. I am not big on using the sweet n low cuz to me it tastes nasty is the blue one any better or any other s on a better tasting non sugar item!

I appreciate all of your hard work coming up with these!

Have you checked out the half price book area I will half to figure out what site I mean. Any way I was looking at this one area and they had a book for .75 cents for how to start up some kind of writing business and I thought of you, or is that Miss Bumbles that has the writing talent? I get so confused!!!!!! LOL Anyway they had a huge selection of self books for really cheap prices maybe EbayHalf or something I just don't know??????? Someone me out where was I finding all of these bargains?????

Well as soon as I find my brains or someone s me find them I will let you know the right site name. I think I am rambling now so I will quit typing!!!!! LOL

Thanks again my Momzone Buddy!!!!!!

C Yall Later!

This all started because the Dairy Queen has a pumpkin pie blizzard that is awesome but since I am Pound Busting I was looking for a lowfat version!

If you have a DQ by you everyone will have to try one!

We don't have any Dairy Queens in my area anymore which is probably a good thing, since I could easily become addicted to their hot fudge sundaes!

Alice it wasn't any trouble finding the Libby's recipes and as far as my own experimenting that didn't really take that long either, just had some problems keeping the measurements straight. I buy Healthy Choice fat free vanilla, it's very good. Any I hate artificial sweeteners myself but always have some on hand for my SIL who is diabetic...they do leave that funny aftertaste, don't they? YUCK

Ms. Bumbles is the one with the talents for writing...I keep telling her she should do something with that wonderful gift. But thanks for thinking it was me, Alice. Don't feel too badly about the memory lapse...I have enough of them for 20 people, or was that 30, see can't even remember that! rotflmao
