Simply boil water and pour into a crack-proof pitcher. Add a handful or so of the tea blend and allow to steep in the refrigerator for about two hours (longer if desired). Strain off the tea material and pour into another pitcher. Sweeten with honey and add lemon slices if you like. Serve over a tall glass of ice with a sprig of mint for the garnish. Teddy Bear Tea
After looking through some tea books together she decided on the Teddy Bear theme and she has instructed each girl to bring her favorite bear. I've told her they can use some of my pretty tea cups and she has already chosen the one she plans to use. She wants finger sandwiches and chocolate dipped strawberries, along with teapot and teddybear shaped s. I'm looking for some plain white cups and saucers and I'm going to let each of them decorate one to take home as a favor. It is so wonderful to be able to share something you really enjoy with someone so special to you.
There were 4 little girls (ages 6 - 8). They all came dressed for the occasion and bringing their Teddy Bears. My Elizabeth has a boy (Jack) and she got him a tuxedo at the Teddy Bear Factory. We had peanutbutter and jelly, ham, cheese, and cucumber sandwiches (Elizabeth requested those) - no crusts of course. Our sweets were teddy and teapot shaped sugar s, little frosted brownie muffins, and frosted pound cake tidbits. Oh, yes, plus chocolate dipped strawberries. Even though we had lemonade (just in case) all 4 girls wanted tea (with milk and sugar).
After they ate they donned old shirts and painted teacups and saucers. They were very creative and enjoyed it immensely. We then made necklances with plain beads and some shaped like teddy bears. We gave each girl a little teddy bear to take home. Elizabeth made a note for coming and her daddy scanned it onto the computer and printed it on card stock. We cut those out like a puzzle, put the pieces in envelopes decorated with teddy bear stickers and the girls took those home too.
When my oldest of two daughters was 3, she was into the Princess "thing". We had a long running "Castle" story that was so wonderful, I wish now that I had it recorded. Anyway, for her birthday party, which is in February, we thought about inviting all the girls she knew from "tots " class, and some girl in the neighborhood for a Fairy Princess Tea Party. We made her favorite s (basic recipes) Chocolate Chip/ Peanut Butter/ White chococolate etc. When they were ed, we used metal heart shaped cutters and made the entree. (the scraps weren't bad!) For a beverage, we used Sparkling cider and Hot apple cider (packets). I found some really nice china cups at a thrift store (no two were the same) they were actually kind of . The girls got to keep the cup/saucer as a favor. I decorated the dining room with a lot of bedding (canopy tops, satin sheets), Material (from the 2nd hand store also)- threw that on the walls and over the chandelier with some doorway ribbons for extra flair. We made some wings with thin wire and knee highs that we painted with glitter glue and the glitter hair coloring (left over from Halloween) and used elastic for the belt. We then took them to the park around the corner from our house (our backyard was really muddy) and let them "Treasure Hunt" for a few goodies. They had sooo much fun! They still remember it today. All in all, it wasn't expensive. It was more time consuming than anything.
