Fruit Flings

Try mild fruits such as bananas, apples made into applesauce, peaches, or pears at first.

Banana Fling:
Mash with a fork. Use unsweetened juice, breast milk, formula or water to thin. It is better to use bananas immediately because they do not freeze well.

Mixed Fruit Fling:
Blend bananas, medium sized apples, pears, or peaches, pared, cored and sliced and cook tender.
Add a small amount of water, unsweetened fruit juice, breast milk, or formula (just enough to let blender or mill mix the fruit to desired consistency.
Refrigerate in tightly covered containers for 3 days only or freeze in ice cube trays.

Tip: When baby gets older, they will probably want to try other fruit such as chopped fresh fruit salad, crushed pineapple, unsweetened plums or berries. Remember to careful about pits, seeds, and tough skins on fruit.
