Chicken Stew - for babies 10 mos. and older

1 medium potato, peeled and chopped
1 cup of Water
¼ lb. ground en (you can use boneless breast cut in cubes if you are going to puree it)
1 carrot, peeled and chopped
½ cup yellow squash or summer squash peeled and chopped
¼ cup prepared barley (see instructions on the package for preparation)

Bring en and water to a boil.
Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
Add vegetables. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add prepared barley.
Mash or puree, depending on desired consistency. Don't be afraid to season it mildly with salt or herbs for older babies.
