Chocolate Chip Cheeseball

My SIL made this at Thanksgiving and it was delicious. It is probably meant to be dessert, but we ate as on appetizer.

8 oz cream cheese
1/2 bag mini chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
2 TBSP butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Combine all ingredients and form into a ball. Refrigerate until firm. Roll in Oreo crumbs (walnuts or pecans can also be used).
Serve with chocolate wafers, such as Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers.

This is an absoloutely WONDERFUL dessert!! I took this to a family gathering with the in-laws and it was a huge hit!! I did not have any mini-chocolate chips on hand so I threw my regular chips through the food processor and it worked just fine! I also grated some chocolate over the top for presentation. It was wonderful! Thank you for such a great recipe!! It has become a holiday staple at our gatherings now!
