I was selected out of nearly 2000 applicants to be a Go-To Mom on the ClubMom.com website. This means that I will be getting paid to write 2 articles per month for their site. My topic is home schooling. ClubMom.com is a national website with a lot of exposure because one of the key people involved is Meridith Vieira from ABC's The View. I will be getting my agreement and package in the next couple of days. Right now, I am probably too excited to sit still and read anything.

The two articles that I submitted as part of my application are already up on the website!
First you have to logon to clubmom.com (members only, but free just like here), then click on the Resource Center, next click on Parenting, and finally on homeschooling. Two of the articles are mine. The one about resources and the one about why I homeschool.
As flashy as their site is, this is the one that I have made friends on. We seem to be a real community of moms supporting moms here at MomZone.com. I like that - a lot.
Congratulations!! That is so wonderful. I feel homeschooled children are very well rounded contrary to popular opinion. The reason why I don't homeschool is because, it is very difficult in NYC to do so. Kudos to you.

I have discovered that you don't have to be member to read the articles, just to post and qualify for other things.
Thank you to everyone who has responded with their well wishes for me. Maybe I will be able to quit the day job in about 5 years and write full time. Time and practice will be what tells. Right now I am just happy for the exposure my words are getting.
Congratulations!!! That's a wonderful accomplishment. I've been a member of ClubMom for a long time but as with everything else ... since I went back to work full time I haven't kept up with what's going on ... I haven't even checked my account in a very long time ... UGH. I will definitely look for your articles though.
