12 year old and ear pearsing

My 12 year old has been bugging me about getting her ears done. She has not had them done do to we are trying to get her more respone of her self. She has a hard time keeping track of her room and her stuff.
so i have been puting it off.
she called today from Georgia (there with there father)
She wants to get them done. But there very expensive down there so she is going to wait till she comes home. and i will take her to the walmart to have them done. But she needs to take care of them herself i told her that. and keep her room picked up when she comes home.
Were just have to wait and see what happens.

Every mom is different about when to let their daughters get their ears pierced.

My mom was adament about waiting until we were 16. Other parents do it when their kids are babies.

If you have told Krissy what you expect, then you should stick with it until she does what you expect her to do.

Ultimately, you are in charge and can/will decide when she gets her ears poked.

Good luck with this one...glad it's you and not me.

Thank a bunch pal !
At least there father had the brains (oh i can't belive i typed that ) to call me and ask me first.
Becouse the first year they went down Amanda's had her ears done when she was 2 but they had healed up becouse they were always infected so he got them redone and never asked i was so at him for not calling me and asking.

So yes were just have to wait maybe it is something we can add to her behavior plan for a reward for her behavior. It would be so nice to have something good come out of her haveing them done.

Got a call last night from my girls.
Krystal did get her ears done.
I am not happy about this since i was hoping to make it a posative reward for her good behavior.
I guess i will just have to us buying her good earing for the rebound!
hoo humm!

My MIL wanted to get the girl's done when they were babies, but I didn't want to do that because what if they don't want pierced ears? Plus I didn't want to be responsible for keeping up with them. So we waited, and then 2 years ago when the girls were 6 and 8 I got their ears pierced. They didn't keep up with them and pulled the earrings out too soon, so there holes closed. So now they only get their ears pierced is if they save up the money for it themselves.

At 12 she should be able to take care of them herself, it's just a matter if she will. And be glad that its only her ears and not her tongue or worse!

I n my culture we pierce the girls ears after their first shots. We are so used to this that, we take care of the ears and we always wear our earrings. My daughter was three months old when she had them done and now she is used to having earrings. Some people like my MIL wanted me to do it with a needle and cork. She is nuts I took her to the jewerly shop and got her ears done. She was three months old and does not remember the pain.

Well my daughter Barbara we did it at 6 months and she wore earrings for a while then her brothers kept pulling at them so we stopped and sometimes she wears them sometimes she doesnt.

We did Elizabeth at 8 months because she kept getting s so we waited but she doesnt bother with them so we keep t hem in all the time shes so cute with them. I had my first holes done when I was 5 my mom did them and then my seconds at 16 m y mom did them again so I wish I had gone to the store and had them done its just we all had our ears done young I guess everyone is different.

A friend of mine said her daughters would have to wait till they were 16 I wouldnt be happy though if I told my ex no and he let her do it anyways. hopefully shell take good care of them
