Talking Pre-teenagers! AAAAAHHHH!!!!

I have THREE kids that fall into this age catagory. My oldest is 11. She is already acting like a teenager. I am thinking about locking her in a closet for a few years! Just kidding. It is a fun age but I think my hair is going gray really fast!

My DH bought her a cell phone. She has been very good about it. So far! I think she is a little too young for a cell phone but I do like that she has it in case an emergency happens.

Been there , done that and doing it again, . My oldest is 18 and my youngest is 12 and both girls. You're right they are such drama s. I thought when my oldest turned 18 it would be better but nope it's about the same, only worse because she's an 'adult'. If my youngest doesn't start her monthly soon I think we're going to lock her up, haha, just kidding too. But it seems like at this age she has a permanant case of PMS!!! I feel for you ladies. It is not a fun age and I hate to say it but the troubles are just starting for the moms. So many changes and new experiences. We have to make so many decisions on what they are allowed to do and not do and then deal with the consequences. My hair dresser assures me I have no gray yet but I chalk that up to good genes!!! . I'm here for you if you ever want to talk or need a hug.

Lulu, a cell phone, huh??? I know what you mean about the age thing and about having it for emergencies. It's a tough decision but since you DH made it he can't complain now can he?? . At least she is being responsible with it. That is a good sign.

Am there, Doing that - Too!
My dd is 10 (she will be 11 in late February) and keeps saying "I'm going to be ___teen. " I just look at her and remind her that it won't happen for a number of years, and that she isn't there yet.
Yes, the mood swings are all about the Drama. The worst part is that while she is pre-pre-menstrual (probably won't start her periods until she is 12 or so judging by the signs), I am pre-menopausal.
My poor dh's life is all about dealing with us and our Drama some days.
My mother had the same issues to deal with herself with me, so I guess this is karmic payback for me. I think my dad survived it by being at work for a lot of it. That may be my dh's salvation, too.
My dd would love a cell phone of her own! My question is - why does she need one as she is always with either my dh or myself? If that ever ceases to be the case, we might get her one of her own. Although the thought of having it is a lot nicer than actually having one. Being always reachable is not always a good thing. And my dd knows that from being with me and having a phone call interrupt whatever it is that we are doing.
