Nick is sick:(

Nicholas started running a fever on Thursday and he was really clingy and just not himself. He cried and cried so I took him to the dr. (the earliest they could see me was 6:45 PM!!!) and she saw he had an ear infection so she put him on Amoxocillian. So that night he got his first dose and he woke up like a different child...back to normal. No fever at all on Friday. Then yesterday afternoon he had a fever of 102 before his nap. So I give him Tylonel and he slept until 5:30 when I woke him. He was totally burning up. I took his temp and it was 104! So I called the dr. back and she changed his antibiotic. He was acting fine except the poor guy was shivering because he was so feverish but he sat and played nicely while I was on the phone w/the dr and wasn't clingy. So she thinks that it is just his ear infection because if he had the flu, he wouldn't be acting like himself. This new antibiotic is the Augmentin (sp?). So we shall see how this works. He's only had 2 doses. Last night I was up twice to give him Tylonel and to sponge him down. This , he still had a fever but it was only 101 instead of 104...thank goodness!

Anyway...thanks for letting me blow off some steam here;) It is scary to have your child have such a high fever!

I am soooo glad your baby is doing better. I know what you were feeling, believe me i know, my son had the flu and kinda still does. Last week he had a temp of 105.3. I ended up putting him a luke warm then kept ing it down with water till it got really to bring down the fever. it worked. and i was so relieved. his temp went down although it took alot out of me, i ended up getting n the tub with him.
I am really glad hes doing better.
